The radio station we receive here plays enjoyable music on Sunday mornings, without commercials, from 6 – 10. So Dan turns it on a 6 and we fall back asleep. ???
We bought a turkey a couple weeks ago. It is fully thawed so is now in the oven and Greg & Debbie will be over later to help us eat it. I’m going to give that new dessert (see Friday) another try. This time I will let it totally cool before trying to serve it.
I’ve got 40 points to ‘spend’ on my food today! Tomorrow starts a new week.
I should’ve been a bit more conservative on spending food points yesterday. I only lost .2 lbs. Ah well, another week, another start.
Alan and I planned a bicycle ride for today when he was here on Friday. The weather forecasters did a poor job of guessing the temperature and cloud cover. However, we had five riders (that’s a big number for our group). It was a 19 miles, gentle climbing ride and it felt good in spite of the cold and cloudy day. Wayne, who lives over in Columbia, came to join us and Gale did too. This was the first time they had joined us so hope to see them both more often.
By the time I got home, I was rather hungry. Good thing we had lots of left overs in the fridge. A cup of chili got me through the rest of the afternoon. Then it was veggie soup and finally TURKEY. So I feel satisfied right now and have lots of points left over for the day.
Got out for another ride today. Posted it to our group but no one joined me. Too bad ‘cause it was a clear, sunny day. I got in 20 miles (had to ride ‘around the block’ several times to get it over 20).
Had three others join me today for a ride. We only did 12 miles but it was good to get out for the third day in a row. Tomorrow’s forecast isn’t looking conducive to cycling in the mountains.
Doing ok on the eating this week. All the cycling is helping keep my “extra” points in the positive.
I awoke to a powdered sugar coating of snow. We have to go into Sonora this afternoon for a dr appt. Of course, it is snowing right now and coming down hard. Still, it isn’t sticking so we’ll take the little car rather than the pickup.
We made it to Sonora and back without needing four wheel drive. However, we also drove through some ice and snow. Glad Dan’s a great driver.
He got several spots on his face and head zapped with nitrogen today. Doctor said there will probably be more just cause he’s had so much sun damage over the years. He wants to see Dan again in a year as long as no other bad stuff shows up before then.
We were going to do some grocery shopping but the weather looked like it was getting worse so we just headed on home.
Tried my hand at a broccoli salad. Made the dressing yesterday and put it all together today. Turned out ok but I have some ideas for changes for next time.
No exercise today ‘cause of the weather. Maybe I can get out for a walk tomorrow if it warms up and dries up.
