Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, "O sun, stand still at Gibeon, And O moon in the valley of Aijalon." So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, Until the nation avenged themselves of their enemies. Is it not written in the book of Jashar ? And the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.
Hello guys and gals.
I am a little late today, but better late than never, lol. I had a big day yesterday and didn't get much sleep. I got off work at my usual 7:00 am and I took Nicholas to school at 7:45 am. But instead of going to bed for an hour or so I stayed up to eat some food. I went ahead and called it breakfast. We had to get Asher up and ready to take him to the doctor for his checkup. It wouldn't be a big deal if we didn't have to drive 45 miles to see the doctor. The doctor said Asher is developing well and she didn't have any major concerns. We found out that Asher is in the top 99% of children his age for weight and height. He is a big boy..
We decided to have some lunch at The Olive Garden. I forgot to pack a snack, so I was really hungry, but I used sparkpeople to look up the calorie count of some of the meals and found one I liked. I had, water to drink, 1 bowl of salad without the croutons, 1 bread stick, and the chicken parmigiana lunch plate. I think all in all for lunch I did good, I used to order an appetizer, eat 2 bowls of salad, 3 or 4 bread sticks, and a Dinner plate, (not the regular lunch plate). Tamie had ordered Asher a Dr Pepper, and it came to the table full and almost spilling over. So she asked me to drink some of it and I passed the temptation of the one drink of soft drink to Asher and let him drink it down instead, lol.
I got a 30 minute nap on the way back home. We stopped by the store to get some food for dinner. I decided to make chili and for my snack I made a blackberry smoothie, I was delicious. I had a hard time drinking my 8 cups of water. I can't drink water out of a water bottle like I can out of a cup. It must be a bit more restricting, I dont know.
Well on to my scripture. I know it is said, "If God is for me who can be against me?" I am not sure if it is in the bible but I know it is true. Joshua is proof of that, He had the Lord on his side. Scripture tells use exactly what he says, "O sun, stand still at Gibeon, And O moon in the valley of Aijalon." I am left wondering how could a man command the sun and moon? Jesus said "if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move ; and nothing will be impossible to you" Then I wonder what kind of faith Joshua had. I can't even imagine the amount of faith he had. I think we could use Joshua as some inspiration. If we could have a morsel of the faith he had, we could do anything. I think the first step is knowing that God is walking with us every step we take.
Precious Heavenly Father, thank you for this day and the chance to be able to be in your presence daily. Lord I pray that you help my faith grow in you and to continue this journey. Lord, please do not allow me to succumb to temptation and please allow me to continue to do your will. In Jesus's precious name I ask, Amen!
