Progress, large or small, is still progress. I'm 4 pounds down and so excited! I haven't seen progress in my weight loss in MONTHS.
I'm new here to SparkPeople so I'll tell you a bit about myself. I recently turned 30. Seven months before that I gave birth to my second daughter. My oldest is 4 years older than her. Even before I had my first baby I wasn't "skinny" in fact, I've always been "thick." I've been told (not recently) that I must "carry my weight well" because I didn't look as heavy as I was. But now after 2 kids, stress, life, and, I'll be honest, just plain laziness the weight is definitly there. I know it runs in my family, I proudly get it from my Daddy's side, but I'm tired of that being my excuse. So, with the help of my Aunt I've come to SparkPeople. Right now I mostly use it for the Nutrition and Fitness Tracker, which I have found SO helpful!
Anyway, Right after I had my daughter, 9 months ago, I went right down to my pre-prego weight. Then I gained a yo-yoing 10 lbs that just wouldn't go away. But until now I wasn't putting in ANY effort toward changing it either. So I have about 6 lbs to lose until I get back to that, and I plan to keep going. I must admit that I'm nervous. I know I'll have my ups and downs. I just tend to get frustrated in those down moments and I've been known to quit.
So I'm trying something a little different this time around. I'm not going to look at the big picture. Any progress is progress right?! So instead of looking at the 40 lbs that I should lose by June, I'm going to be extra happy about the 4 lbs I've lost so far! Small steps, day by day, I will do this.
