Postponing decisions...

Thursday, January 10, 2013

So I talked to people about vegetarian, flexiitarian and meat yesterday. One sign that I should leave meat is the instant depression I feel when I think about it. It was the same when I gave up smoking more than 20 years ago and alcohol close to eight years ago. So I will go for the "One-day-at-the-time"-approach
. And I m not becoming vegetarian, I am giving up meat for a while. Fish and dairy is ok.

An OA_friend also reminded me about wiehgin and measuring the food. I have for a while tried to be laidback and estimate – but it makes me feel insecure andas I donīt trust myself at all it also makes me believe I am cheating – even when I am not.

On the menu today is chicken - it is in my freezer and the rule for changed food choices is about what I buy, what is already in the house can be consumed....

Now I will be searching for a nice coleslaw to go with the chicken...letīs see what spark recipes has to offer...

One day at a time, right? Your body will tell you what is right for you. I have not eaten meat in over 40 years. Never liked it. I like the way a plant based diet allows me to feel.

Sounds like sensible choices all around. I never did miss the meat; but that's me. I do like the way I feel with the way I eat today. Enjoy your day!

I have slowly incorporated less meat in my diet. I still like meat, I just don't eat much of it anymore. I have found I really enjoy a great spinach salad with nuts and lots of veggies on it. I have found I feel best with less meat in general.

One day at a time is an awesome way to do it! emoticon

Yes, that balanced, moderate approach of less meat and cleaning up what's already on hand sounds like the right way to go, Meddy...

Sounds liek a good dinner. You should be able to find a coleslaw that will pair nicely with the chicken either here or on another place dedicated to lower fat foods.
