Keep Moving Forward!!

Thursday, January 10, 2013

In an effort to keep moving forward and not get mad or sad or just want to puke at the thought of how much I ate yesterday I am just going to continue looking for the solutions. On one of the Spark Teams I just joined I saw they have a thread of Hour Commitments. A few of them post on there their commitments of an hour or so to not eat. Example: If they just ate lunch they may put, I will not eat again until dinner. I like the idea and I think I'll try it even with just myself at first. Maybe put a message on the fridge. Do Not Eat Until {insert time}!
Also, something else I'm going to do is paint our bedroom. I NEED a project. Not sure how I'm going to do that with the baby but I'll have to figure it out. I have to do SOMETHING!
Another thing I just read was the importance of visualizing your body the way you want it to look. I've heard this before and have done this before but kinda like shaving my legs, it comes and goes on how often, and apparently in the winter not too often. :) It said to even get a picture which to be honest I never really liked the thought because I just want to be the best me, not to look like someone else, but maybe I can find something/someone that is realistic enough. I'm definitely not expecting a six pack or anything.
So, that is my to do list today. Prepare for painting, Commit to NOT eat an hour at a time, and to visualize! Maybe find that picture! :) Also keep working on drinking my water, getting my steps in, taking my vitamins, etc. Keep up on the things I'm doing good on and keep working on the things I need to improve on. I WILL GET THERE!! I CAN DO THIS!!! This is not something I can or will give in on or give up on. This is not a dead end. This is not a black hole for me. I am meant to get to MY ideal healthy feel good body and get my eating under control and I WILL!!

I definitely think the hour challenge might be a good idea or make a schedule. For example:

    Breakfast 9:00-10:00
    Lunch 12:00-1:00
    Snack 3:00-4:00
    Dinner 6:00-7:00

I've done this in the past, and it's helped me. Just be determined to better than you did yesterday. You're body was made to eat healthy, good foods. By refueling it with clean foods, you will heal quicker (your knee/leg), and you will feel better (more energy). I know you can do this, Sara! Now's the time to truly believe that you can and begin the process! emoticon

Is there a way you could work in a non-food type of reward for sticking with your food plan? I find stickers work with me but it could be an activity - like taking a long bubble bath while your husband watches the baby. That would put a positive spin on not doing something. emoticon

All great ideas...I know what you mean about the pictures for visualization. Definitely want to be the best version of me. I thought about putting up a picture from when I last really felt great in my skin (without thinking I can also turn back the clock :)).

Have a great first day at your hour commitments! emoticon emoticon
I beat myself up a bit this morning as well, binging yesterday on baked potato chips and a few other "not good for me" items. Today is a new day and starting my streak all over again! The good thing is realizing that yesterday was an off track day, recognizing that my body did not respond well to it, and remembering that today I can be successful!
