Good health = wealth.

Thursday, January 10, 2013

I am not "wealthy" financially by any means, but I totally get this quote. Now that I have been eating better foods (giving my body the proper fuel that it needs) & exercising more consistently, I feel so much better. It's also a huge mood booster.

By contrast, if you feel terrible all the time, you not only feel poor in the traditional sense, but that's all you can think about -- how bad you feel -- how life would be so much better if you felt well. The richness & satisfaction of your life has ebbed away when you suffer from poor health. Unfortunately, there are some things that just can't be overcome & we have to learn to deal with those in other ways, but I want to deal with those on my own terms. I want to feel my best so that I can better deal with the things about my health that I can't control. Does that make sense? I still haven't finished my coffee yet. emoticon

Since I have been practicing better health habits, I get sick much less often than I used to. That's also a plus.

Good health is our true wealth. Money may be tight for you & me, but if we feel better, I think we deal with those circumstances much better. At least I do.

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon

I so agree! When I came to SP several months ago, all I wanted to do was sleep and I had no strength to do anything. Now to be honest I was coming off a 2 yr bout with brain cancer, but still was so healthy before that. Now I can walk up the 2 flights to my apt without gasping for breathe, I can kneel down in the floor and get myself back up, and I can walk for several miles without feeling like I'll pass out if I take another step. I owe all of this 'wealth' to eating better and taking an interest in myself. Taking the time to eat right, exercise, positive thought, my family, and SP. These things are my riches!!

That makes perfect sense. My health is far from perfect but boy do I feel a lot better than a year ago because I have taken control of the aspects of my health which I could. Sure there are some aspects I can't change but life is so much better.
Another inspirational posts. Made me stop and put things into perspective and take stock of my wealth despite areas of health I have little control over.

WOW, you thought that all up before you even finished your morning coffee. emoticon

Good health is something we should not take for granted and do need to take care of to keep.

I love this blog! I was just telling a friend that I'm convinced that I don't get sick very often because I'm fit and healthy. I also have a chronic pain condition that is managed quite nicely by exercising...who knew?

So true, I am so much healthier than my parents were at this age. For me the wrinkles and things going south don't matter so much as living without pain. That is worth the earth.
