Health challenge

Wednesday, January 09, 2013

OK so normally I don't believe in doing biggest loser contests. I find when the contest is over them everyone returns to their previous lifestyle. But the newspaper I work at sponsors a health challenge along with our sister paper and the area hospital. Out sister papers' employees challenged my office to a health challenge. We can't compete for the sponsored prizes but several of my coworker have been trying to lose weight. Since I was already on my own path to a healthier me I decided to show solidarity to the two other women i share my workspace with and join the cause. We had a weigh in today. Let me tell you...having to share your weight with your boss...not fun. Thankfully my boss is a woman. That made me a little more confident in revealing that secret number. Down a pound from my last weigh in so that put a smile on my face.
Today was am easier day making food choices. Ad ad I type this I am cycling my way to fitness on the recumbent bike. Other good news today. My husband had a job interview that went really well. With any luck he will only have to collect a few weeks of unemployment. He has another interview Friday so here is am extra prayer that the Lord bless him on his job search along with all those in similar situations.
This weekend my sister, mom and I are spending Saturday making homemade soup to freeze. We are making tomato, chicken and chicken taco soup. Yummo!
I am also excited to see my high school bff on Friday. She is due to give birth to her first child in a couple weeks and I have been joking with het lately that if I get serious and do this right maybe I cam help give her son a friend sooner rather than later.
I have an apple in my eye just waiting to be conceived so now is time to get smart, get fit and get baby-ready.
