4 pounds of holiday weight gone in a week!
This was/is not my goal and I don't expect it to happen every week. I understand that my weight was inflated last week being the first day on the scale after the holidays and right after my new years eve party.
But I'm still proud of myself. :)
Not just because of the 4 lbs but because I stuck with it. A whole week with now cheats, no lazy pizza ordering and not feeling like I was depriving myself of anything either.
Right now I am concentrating on nutrition. Getting my diet (as in eating habits, not DIET diet) figured out and under control. I've done a good job so far and plan to continue. This entire week my husband and I have not eaten or ordered out once, which is a true accomplishment for us. I have made every meal and enjoyed doing so in my fabulous kitchen. We bought our first house a little less than a year ago and I feel as if my kitchen and I have not fully bonded until now.
My plan has been simple - a healthy start to the day at breakfast, usually a scrambled egg with a little low fat cheese, a banana or other fruit and some water or hot chocolate.
A morning snack of fruit or veggie, my favorite has been green grapes and cheese cubes.
Lunch is mostly left-overs of my healthy dinners. In proper proportions, of course.
An afternoon snack, another fruit or veggie maybe with some dip or hummus.
When I come home I make my husband and myself a low-cal, low-fat but tasty version of one of our favorite meals.
Sometimes I have room in my tracker for a treat like a chocolate chip cookie or some popcorn.
I have also been trying to drastically reduce the amount of "fake" food I eat. Less processed foods. My rule is that if I get bored halfway through reading the ingredients then there are too many ingredients and is something not right.
Taking left overs to work also helps reduce waste, which I love. I also being a cloth napkin and reusable silverware to work with me so I have no-waste lunches most days.
Well, I think that's it for today. I have enough wiggle room on my tracker to have a 100 cal bag of popcorn while I watch a movie. It's Horror Movie Wednesday, tonight I'm watching the remake of Fright Night - then American Horror Story - gotta love it! :D
