Well then...

Wednesday, January 09, 2013

So the New Year has started with a bang around here. New job started on the 2nd. Had the stomach flu so that was fun. Halfway thru the shift I got an emergency call from my DIL saying Kevyn was in the Er vomiting blood...turned out to be a horrid virus. He is fine and I am adjusting to the job. It is taking some getting used to working 2nd shift. But since hubby is on it too it helps. We are finally figuring out how to get our walk in each day. We desperately need our walks, emotionally and physically!!

We personally have had alot of stress. Some "issues" came up the same week I started work. Will know the answers to these lovely issues sometime next week. Can I ever get to start a New Year on a happy note? Maybe next year...

Karyn is loving Australia. she and her host family are getting along very well. We both have iphones so we can imessage and facetime even without her having cell service there. Gotta love modern technology!!

I am waiting on my first pay check to order a fitbit. Being in housekeeping in a hospital I walk ALOT!!! Anxious to see just how much :) paid to burn calories...yep that works for me!!

I really miss my babies but the mom's are wonderful. We have been getting together for "play dates" once a week. Helps all of us transition.

I will try to keep up on Spark and blog. Once I get in a routine it will help.

Love my spark buddies!!

Seems many have been hit with the virus too. Some even fatal, so I'm glad to hear you are better. I pray the job works out for you. Keep up the inspiration!

I'm sorry for the sickness in your family to start the New Year. Glad to hear you are better. That's nice that you can talk to your daughter so easily, and that she is enjoying herself. At least with the iPhone you can keep up with tracking your food, exercise, water, etc. and if you have the right generation(?) of iPhone you can sync it with your Fitbit. I am really enjoying my Fitbit, but don't have the right generation of iPhone so I have to sync it with my computer. Have fun. emoticon

I so know what you mean about your walks! It seems with each footfall, there's resolution. I guess we're just programmed for motion and companionship. Good to hear Kevyn is better. That's great about Karyn and you're right - technology helps so much to close the distance when the kids are far away. Best of luck with your new job. Don't forget to post your mileage when you get your fitbit! emoticon
