New year. Same goal. :)
To be able to run a 5k in less than 30 minutes. This year I'm gonna make it happen. Hopefully as early as this summer. I've started training
again after taking some time off and my current form is terrible!
I plan to do at least two races. The annual Midnight Run, a 5k race in June (this will be my 3rd time) and a 10k race in August. I'm sure I
will sign up to do more as soon as this year's race schedule becomes clearer. I prefer to run outside and so far the weather has been nice
but I'm sure that will change sooner rather than later. It's only January and the worst months are yet to come. I will probably have to buy a
gym membership to use on those days when it will be impossible to run outside. I don't like the treadmill but it will be necessary. I really
want to achieve my goal!
So, the plan is to start slowly. Run 3x week, gradually increase my mileage each week. Then add strength training to the mix (2x week). Then
start to work on my speed by doing sprints and hills.
And of course. Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.
