Mornings have always been difficult for me to get up. I set my alarm earlier than the time I need to get up so I can make it on time to work. Now that I have set a goal of getting up earlier in the mornings to work out and get my metabolism going, it's been difficult for me to do so. I just need to keep being persistent and determined in getting up and I know that my body will eventually respond.

Although my goal for getting up in the mornings to work out has not been reached yet, I still am working out in the evenings as usual, getting my 5 miles in on the treadmill and I also went on-line to help find incentives on how to train myself to get up in the mornings.

Suggestions are welcome if anybody has anything that they think might help. Thanks!:)

Morning workouts have always been difficult for me. There for a while, I found that if I slept in my workout attire and left my shoes by my bed, I could put my shoes on in my sleep and stumble to the living room, where the exercise bicycle waited for me. If I had to actually get up and dress for the workout, it never happened. That worked for a few months and then I tired of the stationary bicycle.

During my 8-year journey to weight-loss, I've tried many, many different exercise routines. The one I keep coming back to is walking. And I can't walk on a treadmill ---- it's too easy to quit. I walk, with hubby, in the evenings (yes, now it is dark. we carry flashlights). That's our time to visit --- without kids --- and just enjoy each other's company.

Keep trying new strategies. Eventually, you will find something that works for you.

I'm struggling with the same thing right now. I had been doing morning workouts daily and had actually gotten to the point of LOVING IT for months but then... December happened. Now I'm trying to get back into working out in the morning and it stinks again.

What worked for me the first time around is comitting to a workout buddy who I knew would be waiting for me so I had no choice but to get up. I also started taking an AM spinning class once or twice a week so I had a definite time I had to be at the gym. I also noticed that if I weighed-in for the week after a morning workout, I would be down a little extra so once I started doing that, I felt I couldn't stop or I'd be up weight that week when in reality I wasn't really up. LoL. So betwen all of those things, I made it a habit and it became easy. I wish I haden't stopped. Good luck!!! Let us all in on your tips when you're getting it done!
