I have been a slacker over the holidays. I ate what I wanted and worked out only when I felt like it. I have to say, energy wise, I felt terrible! I loved eating all the sweets and enjoyed not stressing over when to exercise, BUT, by body felt bad, I had no energy, and I lost my endurance big time!
I was lucky enough to get an Amazon gift card for Christmas and decided to spend it on Jillian's Body Revolution program. I needed structure to get back on track and I knew Jillian would motivate.
I've been sick with a stomach virus and now a sinus infection so I debated on whether to start the program right away. In the end, I decided to stop worrying about how I felt and try it. If I started to get dizzy then I would stop but fortunately, I think it made me feel a little better!
Last night was Day 1 of the Kick Start week - which means 1 workout (DVD) and 1 cardio in the same day. I really liked the first DVD. It was fun, went by quickly and was a good workout. Phase 1, Day 1 is not difficult if you've been working out; however, JM does a good job showing how to modify the moves to increase the intensity. I know the program will get increasingly more difficult so I will enjoy an easier day here and there. I'm not overly sore but definitely can tell that I worked out.
I am not following her eating plan 100%. I can't eat fish and certain shell fish (makes me sick) so I'll substitute chicken and things I have in the kitchen already. I'm keeping my calories at 1200, the fat percentage down and eating a well balanced variety. I'm already having caffeine withdrawals (as I'm limiting the caffeine) but that's ok because my head hurts from the sinus infection so might as well have it all at one time!
Wish me luck as I start this new program. It's something different and I'm looking forward to completing the 90 days!
