Today I received an email from Fitbit about my 2012 activity. They had mentioned earlier this month that it would be coming and I was waiting patiently. I was easily able to do that because I totally forgot that it was coming!
Anyhow, according to my Fitbit I have walked 1,084 miles last year. That's more than the length of the California coastline at 840 miles. Fitbit also gave me some insights for 2012. April was my most active month, Sunday of all days was my most active day of the week and Nov 11 my most active day overall. Apparently I don't like to be very active in August or on Friday's.
So what does that information do to help me? First I set a goal to beat my total miles. My goal for 2013 is 1500 miles although I am hoping that is low and I can actually do better than that. Part of it has to do with the amount of pain I am in because if I walk too much I end up so sore and I can't walk. I am trying to work on finding a remedy for that which might just be ice after my walks. Next, I want to figure out before August things that I can do to be more active during the hottest month of the year. It is hard to get out there at 115 degrees or at 4am to catch it below 90. As for active days of the week, I'm always going to have a most and least active day. As long as I am active every day that is what counts. However, I would rather rest on Sunday and have that be my least active day and be more active on Friday.
I do have another walking buddy besides my Fitbit and my husband. It's the Nike Running App. I love that thing. The maps are awesome and the alerts and motivation are so much fun. I don't run but it tracks my walking which is all that matters to me. Between the two products I think I have enough stats to keep me happy for a long time. And the only way I can keep the stats coming is to keep moving.
