So, you're probably asking, what NEW journey?? Well, every year we start and everyone asks, "what are your resolutions this year? What are you going to improve on?" Well, I can admit that I asked myself that too...what are my goals this year? Now, I honestly don't believe in resolutions, strictly because they are, in my estimation, destined to be broken at some point or another along the year, practically by definition. So, I prefer to set goals. Typically my goals have been to lean out a bit, or gain more muscle during the year, and of course there are always the goals regarding my job and education. But this year, I decided that I'm not getting any younger, and considering the health challenges I am dealing with on a daily basis with my thyroid, I figured, why not do this in typical ME fashion...all in!! So, next Monday I start Grad school again...this time to get my Master's Degree in Education with a specialization in Gifted Education. The program is supposed to take about 22 months, but I'm really hoping to be finished in under 20 months (why drag things out, you know). And of course there are the physique goals...again, in typical ME fashion...all in!! Yep, you guessed it, I'm going to compete this year, and if I can manage it, my first comp (ever) will be April 27th...15 weeks from the 7th. Is it a tall order? Well, probably. But hey, I'm never been one to let details stop me...I live for the challenge. Originally I was just going to do a comp in October, but the one in April is being held at a venue that is about 20 minutes from my house, so why not give it a shot and use it as a tune-up for October. Of course, I'm doing Figure, and possibly Physique, and it is a Natural show, so I (hopefully) won't have to worry about the crazy folks who roid up and look like something from another planet. Is it going to be crazy for the next 15 weeks...you bet! Am I up for the challenge?? Most assuredly!! I took photos on Monday (the 7th) for another challenge I'm doing on facebook, so I have starting shots. Now here's hoping that there will be continuous improvement over the weeks! Wish me luck, and I'll keep you posted!
