Detox/Cleansing Options - SEEKING ADVICE!

Wednesday, January 09, 2013

Hello Guys!

Has someone here tried the "Elevate / Detox & Cleanse Weight Loss Combo Pack"?
It is being offered for a reduced price and I've been considering a detox option for a while.

My sister in law (who lost about 60-80 pounds) recommended that I should do a colon cleanse but it really freaks me out. I've been watching videos on youtube of juicing options for detox but it all seems very hard to me. To not have ANY solids for days is a huge challenge, though I'm considering it. There are a few options I became aware of and present two to you here.

Arden's Garden Two Day Detox: Consists of citric juices and water, no food at all. To lose more weight you can keep it for as long as you want, 5-15 days. Here the link:

Elevate Detox + Cleanse weight loss combo: Fiber based supplement containes caffeine, green tea, etc. Take 1 or 2 capsules. Strong and increases calorie burning. It is a 10 day program that cleans your colon. Here two links:

And some pictures below.

Now PLEASE, what are your thoughts? I've started a 1500 calorie diet and I have been sticking to it. I am also working out. These detox plans or programs seem to help kickstart with a great incentive or help you when you get stuck in your weight loss goals. However, a friend did a juicing detox once, something along 5-7 days range and told me he will never do it again and I shouldn't. He felt tired all the time.

The only thing that detoxing does is make you temporarily loose water. It's a con to get money off you, your kidneys do all the detoxing you need, which is why it's such a problem if they stop working! It takes time to start loosing weight. It's like trying to slam a truck into reverse, you have to slow it down first.

Boy, these seem like kind of harsh cleanses. I use the metabolism cleanse by Advocare. You eat clean during the 10 day process (e.g. no sugar, no processed foods, etc.). You do have to drink more water than they say in the instructions though, or you get a little bloated. Advocare also has a 24 day challenge which goes beyond the 10 day cleanse to jump start eating clean. Something else to consider. It's sold on the advocare site.
