Does anything REALLY point home to you that you are aging as much as having to get bi-focals? :P I finally broke down today and had my yearly exam and ordered them. I splurged and got the progressive for an extra $100 cause I can't see not having them when I'm on a computer all day. I think the area designated ones would be unduly combersome. Hopefully I will be able to wear them for a good long time.

my "old point was when the music I listened to as a teen was considered "old foggy" music by my neice. I didn't know whether to throttle he or just cry.

My first glasses were trifocals. My arms are not long enough.

I love my progressive bifocals - it is so helpful for reading, and with the progressives no one knows I have them.

I have progressives too. Yep, I feel old! But it does help a lot to have them.

Yep, that happened to me this year too! It's almost like a slap in the face it seems! I ended up just getting a regular pair of glasses for now. I'll have to get the bifocal's eventually. I couldn't really afford them right now. Perhaps this year I will get them. Getting old sucks! emoticon

I know what you mean. I was 45 when I had to start wearing bifocals. You'll be glad you got the progressive ones. They take some getting use to, but you do.

I hear ya. When I started getting so I couldn't read, I worried that my diabetes was out of control. Then my boss loaned me his reading glasses, and wow! I went to the dollar store and bought half a dozen pairs and leave them wherever I might need them, and carry a fold-up pair with me. Can't do without them. Well, I can if I take my contacts out (very nearsighted), but then I can only read about six inches away.
