Push That Tush - What's Eating You

Voted Popular Blog Post: View All Popular Posts

I'm that kind of person who falls asleep the minute my head hits the pillow,
But last night I realized how much something has been on my mind.
I could not get comfortable no matter which way I turned
and it was because I was tense.
I felt it in my neck and shoulders...
so I lay on my back and did those relaxation exercises I've done in exercise classes. I started from my head to my toes, and found that everything was tense.

Then I asked myself ...WHY

Obviously, things I thought I had put behind me are still there.
There are important issues I need to take care of and
I guess I watched something that triggered memories from the past.

I thought I had the stress under control but
my body gave me a sign that it is feeling anxious.
I think that is where some of my food cravings are coming from.
Luckily ... the healthy eating and being more aware keeps me from going into
a binge craze, but unless I take care of what's eating me,
it will continue to tie me up in knots.

Which brings me back to one of my weaknesses....procrastination.
So ... today we get moving on solutions

My sparkfriend JANEMARIE77 referred me to BYRON KATIE
and I found a great interview
go to the website and search for the video interview with BYRON KATIE

FOUR GREAT QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT
1. what is on my mind
2. do I absolutely know that it is true
3. how do i react when I think that thought
4. where would i be without that thought

Make it a great day.

I was struck by a thought - I have been exercising and eating well for about 2.5 months now, but have never considered whether or not I was committed to what I am doing. Thank you for prompting me to make that decision/take that step.

Great blog. Very thought inspiring. It made me think back some of the events that happened recently in my life.
It is true that once I made the DECISION, things began to move and change. Quite a number of things I thought impossible begins to seem more possible and attainable.
Thanks for a wonderful blog and sharing your personal thoughts and experience.
All the best to you and good luck. Everyone can do with luck every now and then. emoticon

I'm a worrier so I sleep well when my mind is clear and don't when it's cluttered. I like the stress reducing exercise and hope it works.

  Hi Sheryl..........
I, too, have been very tense and anxious lately and have had sleep problems. I have blamed it on everything BUT what is really (most likely) the cause. I used to be very good at facing things head-on, but have found that as I get older, I put things on the back burner, hoping they will eventually go away on their own. Unfortunately, that isn't happening. I am going to have to find the inner strength to just face the stresser, get things out in the open, and go from there.
I wish you the emoticon and am here if you ever need to talk.

Yet another amazing blog, Sher! Your insistence on getting to the source of those food triggers is inspiring.

Keep fighting the good fight!

This is a particularly insightful and outstanding blog. You also chose the perfect sayings...

Having said that, everyone goes though though this at some point, in some manner. Not everyone gets their sleep interrupted, but you know it's very common.

I use my friends and family, literature that is inspirational and relates, and my faith, to help me work through these things. Depending what the issue or problem is, equals the amount of time it takes to get over the underlying trigger. emoticon emoticon
