5k Clinic Instructor
Wednesday, January 09, 2013
This was my first day of being instructor of a 5k clinic through a local running store (the one I run out of)!
It all started with me saying to myself, 'self, you should instruct a 5k clinic- lead the clinic group AND get 50% off clothes?! What could be better!'
And so I did.
All great improvements start by one saying to oneself, 'Self...'
I want to inspire and lead a group to run a 5k the same as my friend trained with me to my first 5k. If it weren't for her, would I have run that 5k?! Probably not. Also, I wouldn't have begun running with the group I run with, and I wouldn't have met my blue-eyed Tom Green (look-alike).
I want a faster 5k time.
I also want the 50% off. I am borrowing my Tom Green's winter run jacket, and layered underneath with a moisture wicking t-shirt as well as a lycra zip-up...not moisture-wicking. I need better fall/winter/early spring long-sleeved layers. For 50% off, of course. Because it gets cold here, real cold.
It should end in a Shamrock Shuffley kind of race in March.
I am stoked. I am a little nervous. I want to be revered as the best most awesome 5k instructor ever. Ha! I just want the runners to enjoy their training and come back for each run.
I want to have fun doing it!
Oh, and the Tom Green guy is my pace leader for my clinic, in case there are any speedy runners out there. He'll keep up with them. He sure kept up with me.
