Life Is Great

Overall, 2013 is definitely my year! I did, however, spend most of the day feeling pretty disgusted with myself but, I ask, why can't you have to rely on an almost SIXTEEN year old to wake his own self up for school?!?! As a matter of fact, even though I didn't get to bed until 2 am or later, I did wake him up at 630 am. He did sit up. When I went back to bed, I left my LOUD cell phone alarm singing to him while his EXTRA LOUD alarm was buzzing loud enough to give me a massive migraine. I was in bed so late because I was doing another overhaul of the garage. Mainly, filling a box with documents I have been stockpiling for decades so I can BURN them next time we go to Trinity. I knew I needed to finish last night because the ceiling tiles were due to come in any time. And then I had a monumental discovery! My FIFTY plus COUNTING CROWS BOOTLEGS that have been missing for over TWO YEARS! And Bowling For Soup cds and basically all my favorite cds...that I had so insightfully put into one big book holder. I found them in the EXACT bag that I had remembered putting them in all those years ago...and had searched for them in several times before now. So I must really be blinder than a bat.
So around nine am, Zack wakes me up and I freaked at first, thinking he is going to tell me that Dakota didn't make it to school. Nope. The ceiling tiles had been delivered. He had opened the front door to find it totally blocked by 28 to 30 boxes. And it was raining. This TOTALLY made us glad we got the ten tiles to a pound rather than the two tiles equalling over a pound from Home Depot. He stacked them in the house while I moved two boxes at a time to the middle of the dining room. Guess I hadn't needed to make room in the garage after all, huh? And then...I went to get coffee and found Dakota still asleep on the couch. SERIOUSLY!!!! Zack took him to school with a note saying I did wake him up and he went back to sleep. Again.
And guess what? I lost ANOTHER pound since yesterday!!! 64.5 down and 75.5 to go. Hoping I continue back on my three pound a week loss but if I can at least continue on two pounds a week I should still be at my halfway to my new goal mark by the Augustana concert! What a celebration! I could be wrong but I really think cutting the sweetener and creamer in half and doubling the coffee is making a difference. Work is busy but rewarding when you feel like you have finally gotten through just a little bit. One boy who I have only seen in a rage before came specifically to me and started a conversation like we had been great friends all his life and went on to say how he thanks God every day for the staff that really care about him and that he likes being here. That was sort of inspirational.
Then I came home to a Facebook request to play Pop Song Challenge and if I can find enuf people to keep me playing, I could be on that ALL day. One of my big things is trying to name song or artist (usually artist) in as short a time as possible. Maybe that comes from Name That Tune growing up. Sometimes I shock myself like coming home from work last night I was able to say, from just ONE NOTE, that song is blah blah by blah blah and it was a one hit wonder that nobody EVER plays from sometime around 1982. I just WISH I could remember what song it was! I love doing it to my kids too...giving the info after only playing one note. The only thing is, it pretty much has to be from the Seventies or Eighties. By 97 I was already addicted to CC and ONLY listened to their cd's and bootlegs for about five years. Yep. I'm a groupie. I own it.
