No Dinner Diet

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

I feel terrible about gaining basically 25 pounds back of the almost 50 that I lost since August 2011. It really has sucked to see that weight pile back on. So, I fought a hard fight and gave up on one idea to pick up another. The No Dinner Diet just means not eating after 4pm. In the past I have not been a breakfast eater, so now I eat breakfast because I'm really hungry and I eat a healthy lunch (not a binge), and have low carb protein shake before the 4 pm cut off. I was also reading that this diet has research to back it in anti-aging literature. I'll take that, too! I will turn 40 in December and I want to look awesome, not fat! Any thoughts or experiences with this diet???

Be blessed,
Snow

I usually have a l/c protein shake for breakfast, sometimes with fruit in it, sometimes with spinach in it and sometimes nothing in it. Then I eat a larger lunch around 1 pm or so. And then a LIGHT dinner around 6 or so there abouts, maybe 1/2 c cottage cheese and a dish of berries or something like that. Or I'll eat a couple of eggs. I try to keep the dinner to a very minimum though. Sometimes I'll have another protein shake for dinner too.

I think it boils down to whatever works for you. We're all different and while we could probably change our ways to anything, sometimes we choose not to do that. Often times when I go out to lunch and eat a larger than usual lunch, Iwill skip dinner completely, so no set rules... For me, when I tend to make rules, I tend to break them, so I don't set much of anything in stone..

If you choose to not eat after 4, keep us posted - let us know how it works for you.

I follow Dr. Mercola on his web site and he says to skip breakfast and "continue the FAST" until noon. He says cereal companies and meat companies push needing breakfast to see more breakfast cereal, but he says it isn't necessary to eat a LARGE breakfast or any at all even. I agree, since I'm never hungry in the morning. BUT, I do want to eat in the evening, so it is much easier for me to say the calories for that time of the day when I'm tired.

Eating six times a day just means most people will eat SIX MEALS a day. Watch the Youtube series "THE MEN WHO MADE US FAT." Really good. He explains how food companies push to sell us MORE food, so eat six times a day instead of three. It is all about profits and we have gotten fat.

Just eat a little bit of food about six times a day is better.
