one day i would rather not go through again

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

Remember yesterdays rant about the scale. Well this is an extension of that. I got a very depressing day from one of my medical professionals. She basically told me I have to be over 300 lbs and that my scale was wrong. I am not happy right now. I can't believe her attitude. Her attitude destroyed me and I am depressed and angry. I may be calmer but not happy just the same. She said Oh your scale is off because of this but I weighed again and it said I weighed 253 lbs. Explain to me how their scale was over 90 lbs heavier and mine that much lighter!

How rude! A professional should never treat another person like that!

I agree with the others, what a rude person and you should have called them on it! Also you need to weigh on several different scales. I have found my scale is within a couple of pounds of what I weigh at the dr's so I am happy with that amount of variation but what you have is totally outrageous for a difference. I don't know where you live, but a lot of our grocery stores have free scales to check your weight.

You are blessed to have good friends who encourage you as they have. You are also patient to have not gotten angry at the nurse for being so rude. You need to just keep doing what you know is good for you. I agree that the two scales could not have been so different. One must be wrong. agree with the person who said that you could ask the nurse to get on the scale themselves.

I second the suggestion to try several different scales. Obviously one of them is wrong.

Got to say tho', what you weigh is much less important than that you make progress. If your scale is good enough that you can tell how your weight is changing, that's all you really need.

That was totally inappropriate! Don't let anyone talk to you like that! Keep doing what you are doing - good luck!

There's no reason for them to be rude to you.

I'd be one who would want to prove a point and go around to different places and weigh myself so I could be certain - scales can be way off sometimes, but at least you would know for sure. To me that would be the way to solve the issue?

I hope you get it figured out, it must be frustrating - I know I would be.

emoticon Let no one steal your joy nor control your emotions. I have a scale that was wrong as well however, not by 90 pounds. She could have been more courteous to your feelings as this is her profession and she must deal with many patients. Blame it on her head and not heart. As we need to do whatever we need to do to get what we need to get, as in the end it's YOUR gain.     In the first place that was a very rude comment to be made by the medical professional. Tell HER/HIM to get on the scale next time and see if they believe the scale then. Keep up what you are doing. Your clothes don't lie but the scale will change and turn on you in a heartbeat.
