Road to Wellness

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

I had my long awaited neurology appointment this morning. It was very eye opening talking with this new doctor. My chief complaint over the past year and a half has been the numbness and tingling in my left foot. I told him my history, my battle with the bulge and bringing out my hidden runner. He went over my MRI which I was a bit nervous about, showing me the innards of my brain matter. I'm happy to say I am not suffering some fatal disease. He said I had the option to get a lower back MRI which might lead to the cause, possibly sciatica nerve issues. Since back pain has never been my primary complaint, didn't really pursue that avenue. The main thing he encouraged me to do was to continue my cardio, get my weight down, control my blood pressure and cholesterol and incorporate yoga to improve my posture, stretch my muscle and hopefully that may keep some aches and pains at bay!

So yoga it is. Found a studio back in my old neighborhood that has cheap drop in rates. I am going to give it a try. I also have some yoga DVDs that I am going to put to use. Alternative healthy living choices-on my personal journey to healthy living and happiness!
