Must Be A Guy Thing (Mini Rant!)

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

So hubby calls me this morning in somewhat of a mini panic. We're going to the AF base tomorrow to get his retirement pay started. He turns 60 on Thursday and he can start drawing it then. We've known about this for months. Well guess what? There's papers that HAVE to be filled out first. And they weren't. I've been reminding him, gently, for the last 2 months to check out what we have to do. He did try to call the base a few times but something more important always came up and it went to the back burner. Mind you..this is something HE had to do. And a few weeks ago he did get some info, on how to use the web site for all this. Except it would kick him off when he tried to input his banking info for direct despot. He did try to call about a few times but until today never got a hold of anyone. So back to the phone call...they emailed him the papers to fill out and they needed them to be faxed back. Hubby is setting about 75 miles out of town on a job site. emoticon

So he calls me...at work. Can I fill out the paperwork for him? Well...OK..it's just two forms. I'll find the time to do it. It needs to be signed..by him. OKKKK...this is tougher! How do I do that? Electronic signature! He asks me do I have his on my work PC or flash drive? Umm...NO..why would I? It took me a few hours but I found a way to get it. In the meantime...my projects at work are just setting idol. I get everything done...he helps as much as he can over the phone. I even have a friend witness it. I scan it, email it to my self, then forward it to him. Done!

Nope...now he calls and has questions...what is this...wants to have my friend sign a BLANK form as witness, in case we need to redo it. I'm like "HUH...WTH?". So he gets pissy and hangs up on me! emoticon I get the answers he wants (Google is such an easy thing to use DH!) and call him back. Tell him what he wants to know then I fax the stuff to the base. Done deal! I'm still a bit steamed that he hung up on me. After all I was doing this for HIM. And not a lot got done on MY job because of it. Oh well...I love the guy so by the time I get off work I'll be mostly not pissed at him. emoticon emoticon Like I said in the blog title...It so must be a GUY thing to put things off! emoticon

Tomorrow I'm off to go to the base with hubby. Then back at work on Thursday...OMG...does that mean I'll have TWO MONDAYS this week? emoticon NOOOOOOOO!!!

I was able to make the gym at lunch. NOTHING was going to stand in my way of doing that. And my eating is on track. Weight loss is still slow though. And I slept better last night. I still didn't get to be until about midnight, but at least I fell asleep right away.

That about wraps it up for me today...Have a great rest of Tuesday!

emoticon "I'll be mostly Not Pissed at him." I think that might be one of the BEST Lines I have read about a Husband (or Wife, for that matter!!) in a VERY Long Time!! And Very True about how we often feel at the End Of The Day.

Yes, it's a guy thing (thought I've been known to imbibe myself, but guys have it down to a fine science). They should still say they're sorry. In your case I think you deserve flowers for all that work! Congrats on getting to the gym. So proud of you, girl! Hugs, Calen~
