Making the right choice

As part of my job, I run errands as needed for co-workers. Today that errand was a Costco run. The church where I work is hosting a homeless shelter during the coldest and wettest months here in LA. The Deacon board (caretakers of the church) are making dinner for them this evening. I left around 11am avoind all the business people and it wasn't to bad. However, did not account for traffic. I found myself extremely hungry as I was leaving. It was definitely tempting to just grab some fast food. Yet I knew that I had some baby carrots and pistachos in my bag in my car just in case. I chose to eat those and then once I got back and dropped the stuff off had a big drink of water. While I am still hungry, the edge is off. I am now off to Subway to grab a sandwich there. I am grateful for Subway as they feed me 3-4 times a week.

I am finding myself not wanting the junk food. If I want something sweet usually a bite or two is enough. Even soda is becoming to sweet. I am watering down flavored tea as well. I feel like my body is starting to rest itself to what it truly craves in a healthy way.
Last night I was craving an apple. While I enjoy a good apple, not something I typically crave. After I ate it I felt great.
