"If I told you, you were dying from lymphoma...

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

would you take two hours out of each day for chemotherapy?"

That's a quote from the doctor on The Biggest Loser last night. WOW.... so many of us have health problems because of our weight, our poor nutrition, and our lack of exercise. And yet, we don't even take the time to take care of ourselves. But, we would show up for our chemo treatments if that would heal us. I just found this quote really got to me. Not just for me, but for loved ones I know that really DO have serious health problems because of weight, nutrition, and lack of exercise.

Let's take care of ourselves!

We can't do anything about tomorrow, but we can do something about TODAY!

We can't do anything about what we did 10 minutes ago, but we can do something about the NEXT 10 minutes!

Anyway, I have been 'boo-hoo'ing as I've watched the past 2 nights episodes of the new season of BL. These people, these 'contestants', have so much to live for... and yet they are in such pain... both physically and mentally. Oh, I hurt from them! And, then the work they have to do to get out of the situation they're in... well, at least the work they have to do to stay on BL. It's incredible! And, as always, I think... if THEY can do it at their weight, what's holding me back from doing more???

Last thought.... I was SO excited to have Jillian back! But, WOW!!! She's being SO HARSH! I don't think she realizes that not everyone reacts well to her 'in your face' style. I'm really feeling sorry for the members of her team!

Human nature says we ignore that which does not immediately bite us. We are so "tough" that it takes years for things to catch up and affect our health. Treat health like Karma and wake up folks!

Well said. I guess it's human nature to get hit on the head many times before reacting.

That is a very powerful statement. Real food for thought.

That's scary but true. Preventative medicine is the best medicine

I've not been watching BL (I don't have TV) but I plan to online when a few more episodes are out. Unfortunately Jillian is so harsh because thats what people have come to expect from her and thats what they want to see.

Totally scary thought. It really makes me think. Thank you for blogging on it and for the title. Maybe I should watch the show this season. I used to watch it years ago. Great blog!

That's a scary thought, but so true. My mom is going through chemo. It's not 2 hours a day, but that's what she'd do if that's what it took... but she doesn't eat very healthy and doesn't exercise at all. Boo! I know she watches The Biggest Loser - I hope she heard that one. :-/

I kinda wish I had a personal trainer - I think I would work harder for them! I'll have to see if I can catch up with episodes online!
