2013 Week 1 in review

OK...Week 1 in review


Good news:

I exercised...a lot! I am actually starting to feel a bit firmer! WooHoo! 

I ate light and healthy. I do notice that I am feeling better physically and mentally because of that.

I participated on SP quite a bit.  I made some new Spark Friends. WooHoo!

I made a point of reading motivational and educational articles, etc.  I know that helped keep my enthusiasm up all week.

I have started working with the SP fitness and nutritional trackers. I have not yet figured out how to make them work to my best advantage.

I wrote and posted this blog!  I am still not comfortable with blogging.  I have sooooo much going on in my brain, but I am not so good with getting those thoughts down on "paper".  


Not so good news:

I exercised...a lot! Probably more than I should have. I am not only sore, but have more joint pain and nerve irritation than I want to.  I need to be more careful, especially here in the beginning. 

I only lost 0.4 pounds. That's not even 1/2 pound. It's not enough to even change on my weight ticker. I want to wait until I lose a full pound. I know that I tend to lose weight slowly.  I know that starting to exercise after being so sedentary can slow weight loss at first.  (It is at this point that I usually give up on the exercise.) I know I actually lost 3 pounds right before the New Year, in anticipation of officially setting my weight ticker on Jan 1, 2013. I wanted my new weight ticker to be as low as I could to start the New Year! I know, I know...but still it is disappointing to have only lost 0.4 my first week. 


Overall:

 I am very pleased with myself for last week's efforts and progress. I am evaluating and reviewing and adjusting.  I will be setting goals for the second week of 2013. I think weekly goals are in order. I am so determined!

    Dont' worry too much about the scale. It is common to stay the same or even increase when you start more exercise. Sounds like a good plan so stick to it and the scale will follow!! (It just never seems to go as quick as we'd like!) :-)
