The girls and I are much better! All fevers gone. Just a little cough here and there. Which is good because Sarane's birthday is Saturday. My baby is going to be three years old. I just can't believe it. I swear it seems like Shane and I just got that positive EPT yesterday. I'll never forget that day. Shane and I knew we wanted to be together from the the time we started talking. We knew that we wanted to get married and have kids. We didn't see the point in wasting time. We had been talking since January, moved in together in March and on Mother's Day '09 we found out we were going to be parents. Fast forward to now and I have this amazing husband and two beautiful little girls! How did I get so lucky?
Ok now that I got my gushing out, back to the diet stuff! Yesterday we started the Primal Blueprint 21 Day Transformation. In the book there are journal questions for each day. I will be answering those here...
Kitchen/Pantry purge (getting rid of SAD (standard american diet) foods)
Hardest part~Honestly, we didn't do this because the girls aren't going Primal. We still have rice, quinoa, gf pasta, cereal, yogurt and almond/coconut milk (allowed on Primal just not during this). Most of which I can readily avoid. I will have issues with the milk and sugar because I cannot drink coffee or most tea without a bit of each.
Best Part~Having more room in the pantry! I have gotten rid of most of the bad prepackaged stuff we used to eat. Mac and cheese, hamburger helper, canned soup. All were our staples at one point. Now I get sick at just the thought!
Comments~It is going to be a little harder with grains still in the house. I just have to remember that it is only for the girls, not me!
Primal resources~ MDA ( www.marksdailyapple.com
), Everyday Paleo and Pinterest have been so helpful in finding recipes and learning what is good to eat and what is not.
Comments~MDA is the first Paleo source I found that actually made sense to me. Honestly, before that, I thought the whole Paleo movement was rather stupid! it's been my #1 source.
Increase daily movement~Name 5 ways to do this
1) I joined the January Jumpstart Fitness Challenge.
2) get down and play with the girls more
3) walk 10 minutes before I can watch a tv show
4) take the girls to the park at least 1 day a week (weather permitting, we live in OH so it gets kinda cold)
5) I think more mommy/daddy time would definitely increase movement!
Acquired today~None although I am working on finding a few things!
Daily energy levels 1-10 ~5
Hunger level between meals 1-10~7
Satisfaction level with meals 1-10~4
Struggles today with Primal effort~I made the girls a pizza for dinner. It became my dinner
Benefits noticed from Primal effort~None so far
Daily highlights~I skipped takeout for lunch although I was very tempted.
Daily needs-to-improve~I'm still not getting enough sleep. I need to not eat the girl's foods.
This is for day 1. Today is day 2. I don't always have the time to blog at night! Hopefully I can make some major changes in the next few weeks!
