Today is my first blog entry! I don't know why I have been avoiding this part of my Spark journey. Maybe its because I am very private and don't want the world to know my business? Maybe its because this takes thought and effort? Well, whatever the reason for the delay, I'm doing it now.
I've been hearing/reading a lot lately that I should set small attainable goals, write them down, track, and then reward myself for my efforts. Here are my goals:
Exercise 6 days per week for at least 10 minutes.
Walk/Run/Cycle 5 miles per week
Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
Take all of my supplements daily.
Eat all required protein.
Read my scriptures daily for 15 minutes.
Do at least one thing per day to take care of myself.
To walk for more than 3 miles without pain.
To run for 1 mile or more (I've been afraid to try this!)
Be able to sleep through the night. (I have insomnia and cannot sleep more than 3-4 hours.)
I started my new journey on December 1, 2012. During that month I reached a goal of losing 5 pounds! Pretty good considering Christmas was in there. My reward was going to Starbucks with a friend and getting a steamed milk with hazelnut flavoring. YUM! Plus I got to spend time with my friend!
My next goal is to lose another 5 pounds. When I reach that goal I am going to treat myself to a Sparkpeople exercise towel.
There you have it. My goals are now available for all the world to see. It also took thought and effort. Wow, my brain is getting a work out too!
