I've been a revolving spark people member since January 2011. It's been 3 years, and I've not made progress. Not for lack of support, information and time. Spark people has been great when I've UTILIZED the tools it offers.
Unfortunately I start strong, get into it fast, then fizzle and burn every time. Oh and of course there's the knee pain, and the handful of other health issues I've had over the past three years. The problem isn't spark people and it's great tools. The problem is ME.
Next week I start a new job, which will be a stationary call center job, meaning I'll be doing 8 hours of paid time on my butt rather than 18 hours of free time on my butt at home!
I've not given up yet though!
Sunday night, while watching the Biggest Loser season opening with my husband, he said (and I quote) "they can do it in 3 months, it can't be that hard!" and I replied back "they are isolated on a ranch with people teaching them how to cook, what to cook, what to eat and they have no telephone, no television, no computer, no video games and no distractions! They also have personal trainers and a medical team monitoring everything they do! That's not REAL LIFE honey!"
However, they also eliminate the words "I Can't" from their vocabulary within the first week of training. Something I've never done.
My new job will have an on site gym....though I'm not sure how busy/full it will be during lunch, nor if I will continue to get a full hour lunch after my initial training period. I will be checking the opportunity out!
I'm not making big flashy goals this time, I have no specific date I want to be thin by.
What I want, is to actually change the habits that have gotten me to where I am today. Not change what I eat for a few months then go back again.
I'm going to go start my goals with spark people over again and fresh start, because 2011? It's gone. 2012? It's gone. No need to try to live where I thought I was then right? I've cleared out most of my old challenge teams...I may choose to do them over at another time, or I may choose to do new teams! But reminders of what I started and didn't finish aren't helping me move forward!

time again!
