ANY EXCUSE NOT TO EXERCISE

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

So this morning I had it on my schedule to go to the gym. So around 7:15 I started waffling and then decided not to go. OH, smack me. Then I got a phone call from a client in Connecticut and had to talk with her so then I had a good excuse not to go so here I sit, racking up 25 points so I can get a bonus spin. I am, however, being good in the eating arena. Had a scrambled egg on one of those flat round breads with a big of cheese melted on top for breakfast. Lunch will be a salad of sorts and then I'm off to an appointment an hour away for the afternoon. I will succeed even if I didn't get to the gym this morning.

I have been procrastinating on the exercise front for about two weeks. Today I got back on the wagon again and ran on my treadmill for 60 minutes. I listened to a seminar that said it is important to schedule everything very closely including exercise. That is my new plan. They said they had an A and B day. On A days they exercised for an hour. On B days they just did fun activities for 1/2 hour. Three days a week A and three B.

Perhaps you were intended to be at home for the phone call. It sounds like you're doing fine in the food department.

I get it! I was going to go to the gym last night - but the daycare kids were picked up very late (7:00pm), then we had supper and my husband and I were engrossed in a good conversation, then it was 8:00 - too late to go.

Oh, I do feel your pain! I LOVE, LOVE exercising, so why do I sometimes fall into that pit you described of waffling and then not doing it? It's a huge mystery to me! I try to remember how good I will feel after I exercise for both the physical benefits, but also the mental ones too. I have a schedule that I try very hard to stick to so that I don't have that opportunity to ask myself if I want to go exercise. That question too often gets me into trouble because there is always something else that I'd rather do! Excellent job with your food choices! That is my current area of struggle! Hope you're enjoying this brand new year friend! emoticon emoticon emoticon
