High Blood Pressure

Wow! What a huge wakeup call as to what I've been doing to myself. Lately I have just felt so bleh... Itchy all over, tired, ringing ears and swollen feet. I decided to check my blood pressure with an at home tester my husbands Mom gave him and it was really high, 152 over 102. Granted I'm not positive what I'm doing but I've decided my life is worth more than this. I have a 6yr old daughter and its freaking pathetic Im doing this to myself and to my family. Along with good eating I really need to start exercising but finding time when I am alone in the house (I won't do it in front of people) is a real issue, it has to be done though. The excuses have to end. I will be checking my BP over the next few weeks, if it hasn't gone down I will be making a doctors appointment as I am not being treated for anything.
On the positive side, I did lose 5lbs this week, my little "WooHoo" Moment. :) Now its time to hit the showers and get ready for the day, I've got a full day of little ones in the house (home day care)... Have a great day!

    Check out the DASH Diet (Great great great great recipes and EASY dashdietoregon.org is a great reference point, not endorsing just suggesting) Walk for 30 minutes a day, drink a ton of water, no booze, no cigarettes, yoga! (I'm not assuming you drink and smoke.. just suggestions) You can do this! I lowered mine by 20 points off the top and 12 points off the bottom within 2 weeks!
    You can do it!! And lean on me for support if needed! I had that diagnosis 2 weeks ago and it scared the sh*t out of me! I'm 26... time for a change!!

    Thank you... I really do need to make sure I am drinking my water and stop relying on prepackaged meals like Lean Cuisine, while lower in fat in calories they are high in sodium. Time to revamp everything...

    My first step would be to check how much sodium I'm having and cutting some if it's too high. Then I would make sure to get 8 or more cups of water a day. It's been helping my blood pressure so far.
