James 5:16 (NAS)
Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
Hello guys and gals.
I am feeling much better today. I forgot to tell you guys that my weight had dropped down to 288.4. I am sure some of it is water weight but I can dream. lol Anyways I had a good day of rest yesterday and I helped me to recover. I think I will be trying out some of them workout videos starting today, so wish me luck.
Well I made some chicken noodle soup for dinner last night, and it was yummy. Tamie (my lovely wife) did not want that for dinner, and I made her upset because I went ahead and made it. I think next time I will leave out the bay leaf. But, it was really good anyways. I had it for my lunch, snack and dinner today. I ran out of ideas of stuff to eat. lol
I am finding sparkpeople to be a big help in my journey. I have spent more time with God and watched very close what I eat. I guess my walk with God and my want to be healthy is going hand in hand. The great I Am is watching over me and leading through this journey. I have not craved a soft drink at all. I did have a piece of coffee cake, but I was not craving anything sweet, and I did not eat a normal slice. I may have eaten a quarter of a slice. I guess the main thing is I am doing what I said I would do. I find it is easy to drop the ball and not go through with what I say I am going to do. One thing that I wonder about, is when someone tells me or someone else, "I'll pray for you." Do they really, or are they just saying it because they don't have anything else to say?
That brings me to my verse today. One of the hardest things to do is confess our sins, not only to one another but to ourselves. But I find that after I talk about the sins, I have committed a burden is lifted. This scripture tells us to "pray for one another so that you may be healed." So if I tell someone I am going to pray for them I do. "The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much" Not saying I am righteous, but if at anytime I am and I pray for someone, I believe that prayer is answered. I do however believe when I ask for forgiveness of my sins and I am forgiven, at that time I am righteous. Because I am without sin, at that time.
These are my thoughts, I am sometimes swinging at the air and missing, but my biggest thing I want to address is when we say we are going to pray for someone. It is time for them words not to be empty anymore. I have posted to someone I would pray for them and that instant started to pray. It is important to me, if someone tells me they will pray for me I want to believe them. What greater thing can someone do for me, than ask God to be with me? He is God, He is the I Am, Jehova, He knows me and what better thing is there than to know I am on his mind.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for hearing my prayers, Lord I ask right now that you would forgive me of my sins, I am a sinner and can not live my life without You. Lord I ask that you help me be a man of my word. To do the things I say, and to pray for those that I say I will pray for. Lord I ask that you be with us and guide us this day. In Jesus's precious name, Amen!
