slim fit... a new commitment

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

sounds weird, i know. but yesterday i bought a new winter jacket. ever since we moved to wintry winthrop i have worn DH's down jacket, which makes me look like the pillsbury doughboy (though it fit me perfectly). and now that i have lost weight, it looks fairly ridiculous. and so a new jacket has been in the back of my mind for a while. even though we're heading to hawaii for the rest of winter. but i found this one that said "slim fit." on sale, of course. the kind of brand that lasts FOREVER. and it fit - perfectly. as in, no, you can't gain weight, not if you want to wear this jacket FOREVER. and stay slim...FOREVER.

and so the new slim fit jacket is a new commitment. because it's going to fit me FOREVER. not just this year...

When I moved from my farm I threw away the big ugly coat I inherited from father - he used to use it while going on snowscooter, I used it for feeding horses and picking up daily paper in my nightgown... I have to admit that I miss it when I have to step out on the backside of my house with doggie... congratulations on the slim fit, if it is comfortable I think it will be a good motivator for staying slim!

We get motivation in many different ways. In this case, a new jacket. Enjoy it! Weatherwise I'm in the reverse mode. I've got stuff from my life up north that I've yet to use here in VA.

Winter jackets have to be fairly "slim" or the wind goes up under them. Brrr! Congrats on having a jacket that will actually keep your new body warm, even if you are going to Paradise for the winter.

That is a good sign of commitment to buy a fitted jacket! Good for you. When I first lost weight, and would buy clothes in a smaller size, I would worry about whether or not I would still fit them in a few months. Now one year later I still fit them.

I just threw out some workout shirts size 3x..they really were ridiculously big.

    Have a safe drive tomorrow.

Slim fit - how lovely. Wear it in good health.

I started buying slim fit for The Hubster this year. His clothes fit so much better, but he had a hard time adjusting, because the regular clothes were baggy and "hid" his body. For the first few weeks, he kept saying "These shirts are too tight." and I'd say, "No they're not. You just aren't used to being thin."
