A Break from your Regularly Scheduled Program

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

I like to journal mostly about my healthy-living journey on here... but I also think some people need a laugh. So you can laugh at the story of my night last night (it's okay, go ahead)...

First, I sliced my thumb open while chopping an onion, and it didn't stop bleeding for 3 hours... I didn't have a band-aid, so I improvised a paper towel + tape band-aid after the bleeding slowed a little.

Then, using one hand and a fork-hook to finish dinner, I burned myself on a plate coming out of the microwave while my daughter, K, was listening to "Burn baby burn, disco inferno"... This is when I began to think I was in Final Destination.

After that, I turned on a burner to boil some rice and sat down to brush K's hair. She told me something was smoking... I said it's steam. She said, "no mom." and I saw I had not turned on the back burner, but the front one, which had a bottle of vegetable oil sitting on it... which promptly burst into flames... I turned the burner off and moved the container, whacking the fire out with a high heat spatula. When my friend came over, he tried dipping the curry with this spatula since I had collapsed on the sofa in insanity giggles and not cleaned up the fire-stuff. I saved the curry. I ate the curry. (It was delicious by the way)

Today was much less eventful; I started a new semester of school and had a great work out session (I missed the school's gym terribly over break). I also received the Iron Gym pull up bar/push up handles/ropeless jump rope in the mail and had fun using that!

Hope everyone had a good Monday! Cheers.

You do realize it's only funny because you yourself didn't catch on fire. GIRRRRL! You crazy! Step away from the stove! LOL!
