I don't know why i go through moments of not wanting to blog. It doesn't make much since to me; I mean bloging really helps me stay on track and focus on the positive things that I'm doing. So yeah.....anyway. emoticon

Everything is still good! I am working out and eating right, feeling good and looking better every day! It's FANTASTIC!!! emoticon

I started roller derby "Fresh Meat" training on Saturday and HOLY CRAP is that an arss kicker!!! emoticon They don't joke around when it comes to teaching you how to fall.....they are more worried about you falling correctly then your actually skating abilities at first! I got lucky and my time in the roller rink as a kid paid off.....I wasn't so bad! It actually felt pretty natural.....like i found my calling or something!! I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! I really think i have a shot at being pretty damn good at this!!! YAY!!!

It was such an inspiring day.....4 hours in the sun working as hard as we could! There is a few girls heaver then me and some that had never been on skates before!! To see these ladies keep on pushing with tears running down their faces, knees shaking, gasping for air with sweat soaking their clothing.....WAS AWE INSPIRING!!! THEY KEPT GOING!!!!!!

The largest girl of the group had the most difficulties. She had to have a wall on one side and someones hand on the other at all times.....but she got on the ground and did the drills right along with us, no matter how long it took her to get up......SHE KEPT ON PUSHING!!! Even more amazing is she along with 4 of us went skating AGAIN the day after!!!! She almost didn't get off the bench because her legs were so weak and she was afraid she could not be able to get back up if she were to fall. We were at the rink for 2 /1/2 hours. She sat for most of it, in full gear watching the small children zoom around the floor.....she eventually got up and traveled around on the carpeted areas for a while. It took 2 hours but she GOT OUT THERE!!! She did about 4 laps around the rink in that last 1/2 hour! The pride she had in herself was BEAMING OUT OF HER!!! It was amazing to be a part of her victory!!!

I feel so blessed to have found this group of ladies!! I can't wait to see what derby holds for me!!! Not only am i meeting some amazing people but THIS FAT IS GUNNA FLY!!!!! emoticon

I'M READY FOR IT!!! LETS TO THIS!!!
WOOHOO!!!

I am at the bottom right (if your looking at the pic) Have my leg extended next to the girl with her tounge out! LOL!

Thanks for sharing your experience! Its so motivating to see girls' passion when they first start the sport when everythignis SO hard. I think falling drills are the HARDEST thing anyone can do no matter how long they've been skating.

    Good for you!! :)

Vix-ACL surgery is pretty common for derby players. My bestie just had a cadaver graft done last fall and was back on the track in the spring.

Way to go!!! I have totally contemplated roller derby and have been asked by a friend on a team to join, it seems so fun. But after having ACL surgery last summer, I guess that may be out of the question. Have fun with it, kick some arss and watch that fat fly girl!!!
