It just is. If anyone spoke to me the way those trainers do i'd never go back. ANd i'd most likely take a swing at them. Injuries, getting ill. It's a horrible situation. Can you imagine anyone in a gym acting that way???

I found it funny that you see yelling at the adults, but not at those kids....which I am thankful for, but I found it also disturbing.

Brewmaster you need to go to the HAES site and read what it is about. It's not about that. It's about being healthy. And if becoming smaller is part of that's fine.

FYI - you CAN be obese and healthy. I have always had low blood pressure, cholesterol, my heart works fine. I feel that i have gained too much for my particular body and am working to get back to my healthy weight. not to not be lower than the obese line on any chart.

The problem is with food we have to eat, it's all about what is the best size for your body. check out haes again, it's not what you think.

Because obesity is a health risk. It's completely avoidable. It's akin to saying, I don't have cancer today, so I'll just keep smoking because I'm perfectly healthy. This should not be embraced.

brewmaster, why do you think HAES is an asinine concept. eat well and exercise and love your body while doing it. sounds sane to me.

I do not actually watch the show-it seems to go against everything we are doing here-it's a lifestyle, not a reality show.

I think it's important to remember it's TV---reality tv so no matter how straight forward or practical the premisis *everything* will be manipulated by producers for the sake of drama and ratings. I don't mind Jillian, I think some of these people do need that sort of tough love to have a breakthrough but I do despise that *anyone* is ever sent home; clearly elimination because of weight not lost puts many contestants on the line no matter how hard their work or endurance. How in the world can a 250 woman ever lose less weight than a 390 pound man in a week? I am giving this season a chance, but if it proves to be what the last couple have been...I am done too.

I agree. The "trainers" are bullies. I don't watch it anymore. It's really ironic that the one of the sponsors is Planet Fitness which advertises itself as a "judgement free" place to exercise.

I agree with you the show is awful Its goal they say is to help people lose weight then why do they put them in a room full of junk and fast food and tell them to see how much they can can eat in a short time and win money or some other prize. the trainers make them work out until the vomit and if you don't lose a lot of weight you are an awful person and sent home i feel the show is in it more to make money than they are to help people. and think of the number who gained the weight back and then some. one even said he was in it for the money not to get to a healthy weight. it was nice to see so many people agree with me. thought i was the only one who disliked the show.

It is a nightmare imagining myself in the shoes of a contestant in front of Jillian! I watch for the weight loss pieces, but last night was just scary!

I watch it and every season say do they not realize there are other ways to motivate people. How about the huge thing on BULLYING would she really want someone to yell in her face like that or her kids when they are older....
I agree BULLIES but still I watch for the wt loss and this year for the kids.

I agree with you and I don't watch....
I think most obese people yell at them selves enough, it never works to beat ourselves up.....
and Jillian, no way.......I'd put up with her BS

"My plea to any person watching the show: It is your right and your decision whether or not you want to be active. Whatever you do, create a team of Size Friendly health professionals that follow the Health at Every Size(tm) paradigm. You should never be disgraced, humiliated, cursed at, or set up for injury no matter your size, age, gender, race, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, creed or religion – or any other class that I have failed to mention here."     I totally agree. I've read some horror stories online written by former contestants that really bother me.
