1.25 Goal

This weekend, I decided to set some micro goals for weight loss. In order for me to lose what I need to lose in 53 weeks, I need to lose 1.25 pounds every week (or average thereof).

Today, back spasms continue. But I am sticking to my food tracker - something I have been treating in a desultory fashion for far too long. I am also stretching and doing the RICE treatment so that I cannot use this nauseating pain as an excuse for very long!

PIXILICIOUS posted a blog in which she said she is setting a short term goal for the first day of spring (72 days). Spring is our favorite season, so she has inspired me to think about a goal for that day as well. Thinking...

    Sounds good!

I have a lot of family visiting starting on June 21, and I want to show them all that SF has to offer.... which includes GIANTS!...great restaurants, great wine up in Sonoma and great small concerts....and that all leads to weight gain for me.
So I need to get the weight down as close to my goal before then. If I can lose 30lbs, I won't feel so bad gaining the 5 lbs that I"m sure will happen when they are here!

What is RICE?

    There is the key right there -keeping a tight rein on the food when you are unable to exercise! Sorry you are having such trouble with your back :( That is what prevents me from sleeping is waking up in pain -I finally see my surgeon tomorrow.
Oh, I so can't wait for spring to show up!! Setting a goal for it would be a great idea -motivation to bring it home in style!

    I'm at the point where my main goal is to say goodbye to at least 1/2 pound per week, more would be great. I've finally accepted the fact that I'm in this for the rest of my life and don't want to set my goals to an unreachable spot.
I hope your back improves soon.

    Great goal. A pound or two a week is certainly doable. The food tracker is so important. I've been lying to mine for too long.
