I know, I know I haven't been around in ages. I am sorry for that, but it's been for a good reason! For those of you who have read my blogs before you know that we were living in an apartment and we HATED it. We had horrible management and incredibly inconsiderate neighbors who played LOUD music all day, ran up and down the stairs, allowed their children to play football in the parking lot, etc. We were miserable, but trapped in our lease until March. Luckily we were blessed enough to be able to move into a rental house!! Not only that, but we're renting from a friend so we were able to move in late November and won't have to pay rent until March. So we're out of the apartment, we didn't have to break the lease, and I have never been so happy.
It is wonderful to just have silence during the day, not booming music. And going from a one bedroom apartment to a 3/2 house is so freeing. There's so much space it's just fantastic. We did have to help our friend whom we're renting the house from move to Weatherford but that is a small price to pay to be able to sleep in silence at night. Moving two households has been horrendous. Cleaning two households has been straining, but again it is all worth it.
We didn't have a lot of furniture, but we've been fortunate enough to have received lots of furniture from my mom, friends, and even the nice lady who lives next door. The house needs a lot work, but it's all cosmetic. Everything needs to be painted because the once white walls are all yellow, but painting is easy enough. So other than paint and deep cleaning, the house is perfect. It's in a quiet neighborhood, not far from where we were living before.
I have not been exercising. I haven't exercised in months honestly. But moving from a 2nd floor apartment and moving our friend has been exercise enough. It will be to soon if I never see a set of stairs again. So I have been active, which is better than nothing, but there were several days where were to exhausted to cook, our food was boxed up, etc so our eating habits haven't been great. Things are starting to settle down, so that's good.
But now it's time to get back to reality. There are still boxes to be unpacked, walls to be painted, and things to be cleaned, but there are also workouts to be done. I lucked out since our friend left her elliptical in the house for me!! No excuses right? Right! Starting today I'll be tracking my food again, getting in at least 10 min of cardio a day plus 10 minutes of strength training, and tackling one room at a time until everything is organized and put away.
One day at a time, baby step by baby step, I'm dedicated to making the most of 2013 and having the best life possible!
