2012 was a whirlwind for me. I was working very hard, and achieving new things in my career. But balance went out the window and my health really suffered. This past year really made me think hard about what I want in my life and how I want to spend it. As a result I've made the decision to look for more balance in my life, and I've shed a major career responsibility that I really didn't need (and that I wasn't getting compensated for adequately). Also I'm back here on Spark making healthier lifestyle choices and meeting supportive friends, for which I'm truly grateful.
Here are some of my goals for 2013:
1. Complete the conservative Couch to 5K program. Right now I am doing a twelve-week walking program, and when I complete that I'm going to start in Month 2 of this program. I hope to be running 5K again by the fall.
2. Lose 60 pounds by December 31. This is 5 pounds a month and should be pretty doable. This will get me within 20 of my goal as 2014 begins!
3. Implement a more effective time management/organization system. I am planning to use Julie Morgenstern's "Time Management from the Inside Out" to do this.
I think that's enough for me to bite off for now ... I tend to bite off way more than I can chew! Here's to all of us reaching our goals in 2013!
