Talk about the weather and other things

First full week back to work after all the holiday vacation. It's supposed to be near 50 degrees by the end of the week! That's nice, but I've really enjoyed having the snow for a variety of reasons! One of the biggest reasons is because it's given me a break from muddy paws!! LOL. With two greyhounds in the house, it's hard to keep them from getting muddy. They love to run! Our yard is a muddy mess because they do love to run so much and have tore up our fenced area of the yard (they have their space and we have our spaces). I swear they have packed our yard down so that all the water from other yards drains into ours and then just sits there. We have talked about getting some drainage put in, but can't really afford that. We tried to put up a temporary fence to keep them mostly on the patio, but as you can see, our youngest will have none of that! She fgured out how to get to where she wants to be. She is supposed to be on THIS side of the fence! LOL

This morning I got up and did a Sparkpeople fitness video! emoticon I do all my exercising at home, but recently a new fitness place opened down the road from me. They are pairing up with the Humane Society I volunteer at to help get the word out about pit bulls and how nice they are as well as helping to put focus on ending dog fighting. I think people in my area don't think it exists around here, but it exists every where. I'm going to stop in there to see what they have to offer. Maybe I do need some extra help in person from a trainer.

What a pretty hound! It's very dry where I live and my gorgeous black Rio likes to go out and lay in the dirt. Then roll over. When she comes in, she is a very dull chocolate lab color (sigh).

I wish we had a gym closer . . . it is over 25 miles to the nearest gym. I would love a pool to swim in all winter but I'm not going to drive that far. We have snow here right now but it is suppose to melt at the end of the week. At least if it melts I can finally get the outside lights down. Have fun back at work. . . .I still think retirement is good . . . you should try it.

As a former owner of 3 greyhounds, I feel your pain. Mine absolutely ruined the backyard. But, I wouldn't have traded one day of the 6 years I had them in my life. They were the sweetest, gentlest, most loving dogs. My lap still misses them.

I think that having a Gym, would be a great incentive...just hope it's reasonable, close, and that you use it enough to make the cost worthwhile.

emoticon I hear you on the muddy paws! My kitchen floor gets so bad so fast! Sunday, my husband said..."Didn't I see you washing the kitchen floor a day ago?!" I had, and yet, there was a muddy path from the back yard to the water bowl!

Good Luck with the Gym!
