I started out at 275 over a year ago. It's kind of crazy to think back to that time. Since then, I've lost 26 pounds (would have been more if I hadn't of slacked). That's 17% of the amount of weight I need to lose to get down to my "ideal weight".

It's amazing how much weight loss looks different when you look at it differently. 26 pounds doesn't SEEM like a lot when there are those out there who have lost 100+ pounds in the time that I've been at this. But when I see that "17%" it blows my mind. That's only 8% away from being 1/4ths of the way done with my weight loss.


And in a strange sort of way it motivates me even more. I'd LOVE to see that number hit 25%. That would mean that I'd need to lose about 11.5 more pounds. Which is doable. I know it is. I've obviously done it before. Maybe that should be my first goal for 2013! Lose 11.5 more pounds. Hmm. Maybe give myself 2 months? That's reasonable enough. Gives me a nice time frame to loose it in.

Oh! And while I'm at it, I have some news! I've gotten my fiance active. Woo. He's been talking about quitting smoking and how he's always out of breath. I told him it's probably a combination of the smoking and being over weight. We went for a walk the other day at a lake and I got him to jog some by challenging him and saying "We'll just go to that light pole". And it worked! We went around the lake once and while I was revving to go around again, we didn't. Can't push him too hard right off the bat after all!

I'm so proud of him, even if it has been just a couple of days. He was on facebook yesterday, posting about how he was jogging/walking. He did it twice yesterday. He got 1.5 miles in. Woo! Go baby!

So, him getting into this also sparked something else in me. I want to do something that I've been talking about for about a month now. An exercise streak! I want to exercise EVERY DAY for 3 months. My minimum amount that I can get is 10 minutes a day. But I'm aiming for at least an hour a day. Hehe. My fiance is a joining me on this challenge as well. So yay.

    Hooray for both you and your fiance!

Whenever I think that I should have lost more weight by now, I like to look up what a pound of fat looks like. It's a little bit gross, but so satisfying knowing that I worked all of that off my body! And I can't wait to get even more of it off! I never thought about calculating how much I've lost as a percent of how much I want to lose. I'm going to go do that now!
