Excited About Soup

Sunday, January 06, 2013

Last month I was at the supermarket, I had about 8 bucks. I saw some soup starters in the produce section for 69 cents. They were trying to get rid of ithe items I know, but for less than a buck, worth a try. I used to think I wasn't a soup person. Turns out I'm not a can soup person. I love my new find! Great and inexpensive way to get my veggies on. This is my first time in a long while feeling excited about healthy options.

My local supermarket is Kroger. You can find soup starters in the produce aisle. It can be expensive so I just wait until Friday morning when everything is marked down. It is fresh and if you don't want to get the expensive pre-cut veggies just read the label, everything you need is there. It is usually about 5 ingredients. Real food, no preservatives or extra sodium.

Canned soup is too salty for me now that I have cut back sodium. Making one-kind of veg soup, e.g., carrot, broccoli, red pepper, is pretty easy if you want to try that sometime.

Glad you discovered you like soup! It's definitely a great way to get the veggies. This time of year it's so warming, too.

HUGS
