New Bike

Sunday, January 06, 2013

I'm so excited. Today I'm trying out my new bike. My DH and I decided that we were NOT exchanging gifts at Christmas this year. We were counting our trip together (we're on it now) as our gift to each other - including a VERY nice dinner out one evening. So imagine my joy/annoyance when he said "by the way, this is something I've wanted to give you for a long time." Turns out the perfect bike was on sale and he couldn't resist it. My gift to him will be to ride this thing - he loves riding and I know he thinks that with this level of road bike I'll enjoy it more too. My intention is to make that happen.

Anyway, I'm going to take it out for it's virgin ride today! Should be so much fun. I'm a little nervous as its so much lighter than anything I've ridden before (I had a steel frame before and this is titanium) & the shifting mechanism is completely foreign to me. But I'll figure it out.

Wish me luck and happy pedaling! emoticon

How sweet! And the best gift to him is the time you can now spend together riding! I hope you are enjoying it, and your vacation!
