Today is Day 7 of the SHRED diet. I did it! I followed the diet 99% of the time with the exception of Day 1. I mean really who eats beans and veggies for dinner, but that day got me thinking. Did I mention that this was also New Years Eve??
But I managed to pull together an under 400 calorie dinner that everyone loved!
Review of Week 1
I am not sure I would have been able to stick to the plan as a newbie to the lifestyle. It does not offer any suggestions on how to prepare meals. The meal of beans and veggies totally had me clueless, but after thinking about it I came up with a idea. Chickpea salad- chickpeas,cucumbers, tomatoes and red onions
Some recipes had feta cheese but I skipped that and added a little more lemon juice. In other words you have to be inventive as not to get into a rut.
This week offers alot of food. 4 Meals and 3 Snacks on most days- some days you get a bonus 4th snack. Let me tell you not on one day did I eat all the food listed. I was not hungry at all and I did not feel deprived on the plan
Tomorrow is my weigh in day
and the start of Week 2- Challenge. After reading the meals I know why it is called this. There are more "liquid meals"- soups,smoothies or protein shakes on some days but since I was not eating all the food in Week 1 I don't think it will be too much of a problem in Wk2. I invested in some Special K protein drinks that are pretty good when icy cold. So I am ready for the Challenge week
