With the start of the new year I wanted to and did increase the amount of time I spent every day working out. Most day I had been working out to exercise videos only 30 minutes with a 30 minute walk thrown there every so often. Now I have changed that to working out with videos 30 minutes and either walking 30 minutes or if weather is bad riding my exercise bike for at least 30 minutes. Today I have planned to walk for an hour with my hubby. I got up super early today and did my 30 minute exercise video and rode the exercise bike for 30 minutes, before the sun came up so today I am really working out.
I find that a good work out like that puts me in to a better frame of mind. On mornings that I skip exercising I feel like some thing is missing. I tend to get the blues and need help getting out of this blue funk. Exercising is good for my body and soul. It perks me up and makes me feel like I can face any thing the world throws at me.
One of the bonuses of increasing my exercise on a regular bases is that Spark People has increased my calorie allotment for the day. I also am making changes for the better in my life. I am eating more fruit and vegetables. I am also going to look in to buying some protein power today, once the sun comes up, ha ha hee hee.
One other thing I have problem with is night time snack. If I say I can have a snack after 8:00, that opens the door to binge eating. I keep track of what I eat and if I see I have calories left over at the end of the day, I try to eat them as fast as I can. And that I say opens the door to a binge. So now what I am doing is, after dinner cleaning up the kitchen, putting away any leftovers and closing down the kitchen. No eating after dinner. And if I have calories left over well maybe that is a good thing, weight will come off easier. I never eat lest then 1200 calories.
These small changes will make me a healthier person and a good example to my Hubby and friends.
