Wow, as always I have had a crazy December. Long story short, I got in a car accident - on my way home from the gym! - on December 8 and just last weekend purchased another car. Between there, it's been dealing with insurance, paperwork, doctor visits, car shopping, making sure I had a way to get around. Sufficed to say, my focus has not been on eating healthy and working out.
My previous vehicle that was wrecked was paid off. Now that I got a new (used) vehicle, I will have a car payment again. And since it's newer, my registration fee is 3 times as much. So, in light of the money situation, I decided to not continue with Jenny Craig. A big decision since I've been doing Jenny Craig for a very, very long time.
I truly do know what I need to do and it all comes down to me making the effort. Whether I'm on Jenny Craig or on my own, if I don't make the effort, I won't lose the weight.
Jenny Craig had really good food and I'll miss that, but even with my discount, it was still pricey and there are so many great affordable "diet" meals out there if I want something quick. Plus I like to cook meals and have all sorts of great cookbooks - Jenny Craig, Sparkpeople, Biggest Loser, Hungry Girl.
The other thing I liked about Jenny Craig was the accountability. I had to weigh in once a week in front of someone, but I can log my weight in here once a week and on my Body Media Fit (Body Bugg).
I've seen through different blogs I follow and through Sparkpeople that there are others who follow a plan and stay healthy.
I already have the knowledge. I just need to apply it.
