The Celiac that Could

Sunday, January 06, 2013

I feel like the Little Engine that Could. I have to play a running pep rally in my brain. I think I can. I think I can.

I had another gluten eating nightmare last night. It was scarey. I hope I stop with the eating nightmares soon.

Thank you both for the encouragement!
I'm having a difficult time finding information from people on what they were able to tolerate or not tolerate when they started this new path of gluten free life. I wonder if people block it out of their memory.
I appreciate all hints!
I didn't have typical symptoms before I was diagnosed but now I count the good days and never know when something will upset my system. In some ways I was in less distress when I was eating gluten but I recognize that I wasn't absorbing nutrients and won't go back to eating gluten. It's frustrating to be having intestinal issues now when I didn't before I was gluten free.

Yes, you can! Pain is a great motivator. Gluten is not worth eating. Vegetables rock! You can learn to like them because you will feel so much better when you eat them. (I had to work up to eating raw vegetables because while my gut was healing, I could only tolerate the cooked ones. ) Keep trying different vegetables!
