I've got the munchies and I can't turn it off!

Sunday, January 06, 2013

I'm near the top of my calories, I've got the munchies. I'm not actually hungry but I can't stop being munchy. GRR! I don't know what to do. I don't think baby is actually hungry, but I don't know. I can't tell. I want chocolate chip cookies. I'm blogging cause I'm stuck on what to do.

And now apparently I AM hungry. (Insert tummy growl! LOL) So now I have to figure out what to have. Preferably NOT chocolate chip cookies

A little later:

! I ended up with plain yogurt, fruit, and special dark syrup. Not too bad :) I'm over my calories, but baby's happy. So that's good.

I made sure I was really hungry. And I also made sure that what I had was something healthy, and what baby needed. :) Yea me!

I've told you before and I'll keep telling you, as long as the majority of the calories you're consuming are healthy or near-healthy enough I wouldn't worry about going over - you are growing a whole new human being after all. Now, if you're totally over from just binging on nothing but junk all day long yeah, okay, you can have a day or two here or there - you're entitled!! What matters most is that you and baby stay as healthy as possible right now and that once baby is born, you know how to treat your body right to take care of yourself once again. And yes, even after pregnancy you can go over calories now and then as your body readjusts - unless you breast feed, then you still need extra calories for doing the feeding.

You'll be fine sis! You have done an amazing job before and during your pregnancy - you have been an inspiration to me hon, you really have. I know you'll be fine. Love You Sis! Happy New Year!

Congrats on your upcoming bundle of joy!! I agree you should eat when you are hungry but healthy chouices ( I learned the hard way with my pregancy). If you like jello pudding maybe keep some instant on hand with some low-fat cool whip. This would help satisy the chocolate cravings!
Hope this helps!!

Hunger is a great cue to drink water, but if you need to eat, it is wonderful to be mindful about your choices.

I know how you feel. this was me during my pregnancy. I felt like I always had the munchies. I finally ended up keeping fruit and other healthy snacks at hand. You are doing great!

Hey at least you have a valid reason for going over. You'll be fine.
