Getting off the floor

Sunday, January 06, 2013

I read something a week or two ago, it might have been posted in the A&I team? I can't remember, but it said that your ability to get onto and back up off of the floor, WITHOUT assistance, was a way of determining how healthy you were and if you were likely to die in the next x # of years. Well, of course I had to try. I am happy to say I can get onto and off of the floor with NO problem all by myself WITHOUT holding or pushing against anything :D Thank you, Yoga! Namaste!

I have yet to try it. I'm kind of scared to know the answer. LOL.

update - I was able to do it too.

I read that somewhere, too. It's great you can still get off the floor.

Hmmm.... Thank you for this concept. It makes sense. And makes me think I need to act now to improve my chances!

It's a little difficult to do because my leg is still healing but I think I could do it with one hand. A couple of months ago it would have been more difficult with still recovering from my broken leg. I love yoga but it's still a bit difficult for me to do with my leg. Maybe I should try it again soon though maybe it will help my leg. emoticon

At 46 you have a long time ahead, keep up the exercises and you will do well.

I think it's great that you like yoga & you can get off of the floor without any problems! I am not a yoga fan but hopefully I will find some exercises to help with flexibility!

Thanks for sharing the link! :)
