Extended Hotel Stay

Saturday, January 05, 2013

For the next month I'll be out of town and staying at a hotel for my job. The hotel is really nice but the problems with it are quickly adding up with it.

First, the hotel is not an extended stay hotel. The room does not have a kitchen or stove so cooking for myself is limited.

Second, there is a fridge in the room but there is no microwave.

Third, in a lot of regards I'm limited in what I can do. Due to my work schedule, availability to a car and some other reasons I only have a limited amount of things I can do. There are certain things within walking distance but since I'm going to be here for so long I'm trying to space it out. I'm fine with the weekdays for the most part. It's just the weekends when I have no work to occupy my time that I get bored.

Even yesterday I went for an hour walk after work, got dinner and then came back and used the hotel's 24 hour gym where I worked out for almost another hour.

I guess I'm just worried about undoing all of the good I've done so far. I was able to get some groceries for breakfast and lunch. As for dinner I thought I could go out so I'd at least have one hot meal a day. I also worry about becoming so bored that I choose to sit around and eat. I've already caught myself a few times already. Limited cable, being tired from work, and no internet (except for this weekend where I decided to spring for internet since the hotel charges for it). I might see if I can find a used bookstore or something.

So far though I have one more day and the first weekend here will be over. I just hope tomorrow goes better food wise then today did.
